How it Works
Viora’s radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening technology delivers controlled heat into the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin. As existing collagen fibers contract and new collagen is formed, areas of laxity gradually become firmer and more lifted in appearance.
RF skin tightening can be used on many areas of the face and body, including the cheeks, eyelids, under eyes, jawline, neck, decolletage, abdomen, arms, thighs, and knees. By combining different RF modes and, in some handpieces, vacuum-assisted delivery, treatments can be tailored to your skin thickness and level of laxity.
This technology is non-surgical and does not remove skin. Instead, it encourages your own tissue to remodel over time, making it a good option for patients with mild to moderate looseness who are not ready for or do not want surgery.
What to Expect
A typical skin tightening visit takes 20–45 minutes depending on the area treated. After cleansing the skin, a conductive gel is applied. As the handpiece passes over the skin, you’ll feel a build-up of warmth in the deeper layers; most patients describe this as a comfortable heating sensation that is adjusted to stay within your tolerance.
The skin may appear slightly pink and feel warm immediately after treatment, but this usually resolves within a few hours. There is minimal to no downtime—most patients can return to normal activities right away, avoiding only excessive heat or aggressive skin care for a short time.
Because collagen remodeling takes time, the lifting and tightening effect builds gradually over several weeks to months. A series of sessions is typically recommended, followed by maintenance treatments to help support results. During your consultation we’ll discuss your specific areas of concern, how RF tightening compares to other options, and what kind of improvement you can expect.
Skin tightening can also be paired with V-FORM contouring or V-FR resurfacing at Captivate to address multiple concerns—tone, texture, and laxity—in a coordinated plan.
